Comets drop three duals in wrestling
THORNBURG ? Cardinal wrestling ran into a three-team buzz saw Tuesday at a quadrangular in Thornburg.
The Comets fell to Sigourney 42-15, dropped a 54-6 dual to host Tri-County/Montezuma and fell to Albia 54-18.

THORNBURG ? Cardinal wrestling ran into a three-team buzz saw Tuesday at a quadrangular in Thornburg.
The Comets fell to Sigourney 42-15, dropped a 54-6 dual to host Tri-County/Montezuma and fell to Albia 54-18.
Despite the three losses, Cardinal junior Josh Ramos had a big evening with three pins. Ramos won by fall in 3:30 vs. Sigourney?s Noah Schuster, pinned Tri-County?s Jacob Weber in 1:59 and won by fall against Joseph Sager of Albia in 3:29.
Both freshman Drayton Hamm and junior Ryan Cale went 2-1 on the day.
Wrestling at 106 pounds, Hamm earned an 8-4 decision against Sigourney?s Chase Denny, then received a forfeit in the dual with Albia. Cale earned a pair of forfeits vs. Sigourney and Albia.
Cardinal travels to Mediapolis for a triangular with West Burlington/Notre Dame on Thursday.
