Community Action now taking applications for low-income home energy assistance program
Community Action of Southeast Iowa is taking applications for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) through April 30, 2016. Individuals who haven?t applied since Oct. 1, 2015, are eligible to apply now.
Eligibility for participation is established according to the Federal Household Income Guidelines.

Community Action of Southeast Iowa is taking applications for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) through April 30, 2016. Individuals who haven?t applied since Oct. 1, 2015, are eligible to apply now.
Eligibility for participation is established according to the Federal Household Income Guidelines.
The following items need to be presented upon the time of application:
? Proof of income for the last 13 weeks or most current income tax return (2014 or 2015) for all household members
? Current heating bill
? Current electric bill
? Birthdates for all household members
? Proof of Social Security numbers are required for all household members that are legal citizens. Households with non-citizens may also apply.
Call the Henry County Tolson Center at 319-385-2310 to set up an appointment. Bring all the information needed to know if you qualify.
This program is designed to pay a portion (not the total) of a household?s energy costs. Eligibility is determined by several factors including: total household income, household size, dwelling type, type of heating fuel, among others.
