The Central Park Community Center held their monthly meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 14, with seven members present. President Barb Nelson conducted the meeting; secretary Nancy Kimmel read the minutes of the last meeting and they were approved. Treasurer Judy Grover gave the treasurers report.
Gifts have been made to the center from members and friends who do not want the center to close as they do their best to remain open. The Community Center extends a big 'thank you” to those who have helped them to remain open.
There are two phone numbers that can be called for anyone needing medical equipment or to book a reunion. The numbers are: 319-461-5085 and 319-458-9613.
The next meeting will be Tuesday, Feb. 11.
A dozen people (from Brighton, Wayland and Mt. Pleasant) braved the cold Thursday night (Jan. 24) to attend the weekly Celebrate Recovery meeting at the Brighton Church of God. Attendees enjoyed a lesson on making a decision to turn lives and wills over to the care of God, as well as a free meal, praise and worship time and small-group sharing. The next meeting, open to anyone with a hurt, habit or hangup, will be held Thursday, Jan. 31, beginning at 6 p.m.
