A 2014 Farm Bill Computer Lab Workshop is being offered on Jan. 16 to help corn and soybean farmers increase their confidence when making a program choice for their farms.
Farmers will have the opportunity to enter production and yield information for their own farms to help them make informed decisions regarding the reallocation of base areas and the ELECTION of a commodity program for the life of the Farm Bill.
Washington County Extension will be sponsoring the computer lab workshop using the ?ISU Farm Bill Analyzer.? Ryan Drollette, Iowa State University Extension Field Agricultural Economist, will be the presenter. The workshop will allow participants to enter their own data, choose anticipated price scenarios, and evaluate possible outcomes as they make a program choice for their farms.
Two hour-long sessions will be held, one beginning at 1 p.m. and one at 3 p.m. at the Washington County Extension office. There is no cost to attend but registration is required. Pre-register at least two days in advance. Registration is limited to 12 participants per session. Computers will be provided.
