Concert series raising funds for Iowa Wesleyan scholarship
MOUNT PLEASANT ? The sixth Hometown Concert Series will kick off with a Christmas show featuring Sound Appeal, the Mount Pleasant First Presbyterian Church adult bell choir, at 7 p.m. Dec. 21.

MOUNT PLEASANT ? The sixth Hometown Concert Series will kick off with a Christmas show featuring Sound Appeal, the Mount Pleasant First Presbyterian Church adult bell choir, at 7 p.m. Dec. 21.
This year the concerts will be held in the Iowa Wesleyan College Chapel Auditorium in Mount Pleasant.
The concert series showcases local talent and raises funds to support local projects. In the past, the funds have supported the Iowa Wesleyan College Chapel renovation project and raised money for downtown Christmas lights. This time, the proceeds will establish a scholarship program for Iowa Wesleyan College music students.
Other programs in the series are:
? 2 p.m. Jan. 15, Tim Gray will perform a concert featuring the euphonium. He has been playing the euphonium for 26 years and studied musical performance at Illinois State University.
? 2 p.m. Feb. 19, Iowa Wesleyan College professor of music Jason Edwards will be featured. He is proficient on five woodwind instruments.
? 2 p.m. March 18, Ana Miller, adjunct voice professor at Iowa Wesleyan College, will present a concert with the theme ?Around the World Via France.?
Season tickets are $30, or tickets for each individual performance are $10. Tickets are available at Brown?s Shoe Fit or KILJ Radio, both in Mount Pleasant.
