Congregate meal menu announced for Fairfield

Congregate meals are served at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday at the Fairfield Community Center.

The upcoming menu is:

Wednesday, Aug. 21 – roast beef, gravy, creamy noodles, green beans, fresh fruit cup.

Thursday, Aug. 22 – baked ham, pinto beans, carrots, peach cobbler, wheat roll.

Friday, Aug. 23 – cook's choice, dessert.

Monday, Aug. 26 – swiss steak homemade mashed potatoes, candied carrots, peaches and pineapple, oatmeal cookies, wheat roll.

Tuesday, Aug. 27 – ham and potatoes au gratin, green beans with onions, angel food cake, fresh strawberries, cornbread muffin.

Each meal also includes wheat dinner roll or bread, unless another bread item is noted, margarine and skim milk.

Reservations for meals are required one day in advance. Reservations can be made either at the community center or by calling 641-472-4403.

For people 60 years of age and older and their spouse of any age, there is a suggested contribution based on income range. Individuals younger than 60 pay the full meal charge as posted at the meal site.

Bingo is scheduled to be played from 12:15-1:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday at the Fairfield Community Center.
