Congregate Meal Menu: March 7-11, 2016

Fairfield Senior Citizen Center has listed its menu for the coming week.

Meals are served at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday at the Fairfield senior center and at noon Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the Lockridge senior center.

Monday ? beef tips in gravy, mashed potatoes, green bean amandine, mandarin oranges, oatmeal-raisin cookie, 100 percent wheat bread with margarine.

Tuesday ? ham and beans, Tomato Spoon Salad, tropical fruit, pumpkin bar, cornbread with margarine.

Wednesday ? roast turkey, gravy, baked potato with sour cream, broccoli, apricot sauce, 100 percent wheat bread with margarine.

Thursday ? beef meatball, gravy, scalloped potatoes, creamed peas, banana-orange cup, 100 percent wheat bread with margarine.

March 11 ? potato-crusted fish fillet, sour cream mashed potatoes, spinach with vinegar, fresh fruit, 100 percent wheat bread with margarine

Milk, whole-wheat and whole-grain bread or muffins and margarine are offered with all meals.

The menu provides a general balanced diet that meets the RDA?s/RIA?s for adults. Responsibility for compliance with any dietary restrictions rests with the participants.

For people 60 years of age and older and their spouse of any age, there is a suggested contribution based on income range. Individuals younger than 60 pay the full meal charge as posted at the meal site.

Reservations for meals at Fairfield must be made one day in advance either at the center or by calling 472-4403. For reservations at Lockridge, call 319-696-2086.

Bingo is played 12:15-1:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday in Fairfield.
