Congregate Meal Menu: October 1-5, 2012

The Fairfield Senior Citizen Center has listed its menu for the coming week.

Meals are served at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday at the Fairfield senior center and at noon Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the Lockridge senior center.

Monday ? beef luncheon steak, gravy, potatoes, green beans, banana orange cup.

Tuesday ? ham and beans, Tomato Spoon Salad, cornbread muffin, cottage cheese, pineapple, orange juice.

Wednesday ? baked chicken, mashed potato, gravy, creamed spinach, apricot halves.

Thursday ? baked fish, baked potato, sour cream, creamed peas, fresh fruit.

Oct. 5 ? chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, Harvard beets, muffin, mandarin oranges, pudding.

Milk, whole-wheat and whole-grain bread/muffins, and margarine are offered with all meals. The menu provides a general balanced diet that meets the RDA?s/RIA?s for adults.

Meals are offered on a contribution basis for persons 60 years of age and older and their spouses of any age. Full cost of meals is: congregate, $5.87; carryout, $6.35; home delivered, $7.73.

Reservations for meals at the Fairfield senior center must be made one day in advance either at the center or by calling 472-4403.

Bingo is played from 12:15-1:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, and the Ed Bruegge Band plays at noon the first Wednesday of every month in Fairfield.
