Congregate Meals

The Fairfield Senior Citizen Center has listed its menu for the coming week.

Meals are served at 11:30 a.m.

Monday ? ground beef gravy, mashed potatoes, lima beans, Surprise Salad, cookie.

Tuesday ? baked chicken, Tri Potato Patty, spinach, Mandarin oranges, apple cinnamon bar.

Wednesday ? meat loaf, macaroni salad, broccoli, fresh fruit, gingerbread, whipped topping.

Thursday ? country fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, Brussels sprouts with cheese, bran raisin muffin, banana-peach cup.

July 29 ? pork cutlet and gravy, baked potato and sour cream, Harvard beets, applesauce, Cool Pie.

Milk, whole wheat and whole grain bread/muffins, and margarine are offered with all meals. This menu provides a general balanced diet that meets the RDA?s/RIA?s for adults.

Meals are offered on a contribution basis for persons 60 years of age and older and their spouses of any age. Full cost of meals are as follows: congregate, $5.87; carry-out, $6.35; home delivered, $7.73.

Reservations must be made one day in advance either at the center or through the Agency on Aging, 472-4403.

Monday and Wednesday meals will be served at the Lockridge center at noon. For reservations at Lockridge, call (319) 696-2711.

Bingo will be played from 12:15-1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Fairfield.
