Congregate Meals

The Fairfield Senior Citizen Center has listed its menu for the coming week.

Meals are served at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday at the Fairfield senior center and at noon Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the Lockridge senior center.

In observance of Lent, fish will be offered as an alternative each Friday through April 8. Diners should let the meal site know if they prefer fish when making reservations.

Monday ? beef macaroni casserole, broccoli, tossed lettuce salad with assorted dressings, Mandarin oranges, cookie.

Tuesday ? tuna salad, Swiss cheese slice, homemade wheat bun, potato salad, tomato slices, dices cantaloupe.

Wednesday ? beef and noodles, mashed potatoes, brussel sprouts with cheese, banana half.

Thursday ? hash brown casserole, green beans, bran-raisin muffin, peaches, gelatin with whipped topping, orange juice.

April 6 ? Easter dinner: roast turkey, baked potato, sour cream, creamed peas, homemade wheat dinner roll, white cake, fruit.

Milk, whole wheat and whole grain bread/muffins, and margarine are offered with all meals. The menu provides a general balanced diet that meets the RDA?s/RIA?s for adults.

Meals are offered on a contribution basis for persons 60 years of age and older and their spouses of any age. Full cost of meals is: congregate, $5.87; carryout, $6.35; home delivered, $7.73.

Reservations for meals at the Fairfield senior center must be made one day in advance either at the center or by calling 472-4403.

Bingo is played from 12:15-1:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday in Fairfield. The Ed Bruegge Band will play at noon Wednesday.
