Congregate Meals: April 16-20, 2012

The Fairfield Senior Citizen Center has listed its menu for the coming week.

Meals are served at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday at the Fairfield senior center and at noon Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the Lockridge senior center.

Monday ? meat loaf, baked potato with sour cream, kidney bean salad, mandarin oranges.

Tuesday ? chicken salad on wheat hamburger bun, tomato slices, potato salad, broccoli salad, diced cantaloupe, oatmeal raisin cookie.

Wednesday ? spaghetti with meat sauce, green beans, layered lettuce salad, garlic bread, applesauce, orange juice.

Thursday ? pot roast, boiled potatoes, baby carrots, sautéed onions, sliced strawberries, vanilla ice cream.

April 20 ? chicken alfredo, parsley noodles, lima beans, orange slices, pudding with whipped topping.

Milk, whole-wheat and whole- grain bread/muffins, and margarine are offered with all meals. The menu provides a general balanced diet that meets the RDA?s/RIA?s for adults.

Meals are offered on a contribution basis for persons 60 years of age and older and their spouses of any age. Full cost of meals is: congregate, $5.87; carryout, $6.35; home delivered, $7.73.

Reservations for meals at the Fairfield senior center must be made one day in advance either at the center or by calling 472-4403.

Bingo is played from 12:15-1:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday in Fairfield, and the Ed Bruegge Band plays at noon the first Wednesday of every month.
