Congregate meals: Aug. 31-Sept. 3

Milestones Area Agency on Aging is continuing to offer home-delivered meals in Fairfield. Congregate meals are normally served at 11:30 a.m. weekdays at Fairfield Community Center, but the pandemic has forced a change of plans. Milestones is delivering the meals to seniors. Reservations are required one day in advance at the center or by calling 641-472-4403. A fee is charged.

The menu for the following week, Aug. 31 to Sept. 3 is:

Monday - Pimento cheese salad sandwich, spinach salad with cucumber, carrots, celery, pineapple tidbits and cottage cheese.

Tuesday - Garlic herbed pork loin, mashed sweet potatoes, carrots and cauliflower, snickerdoodle bar and cornbread.

Wednesday - Roast beef, gravy baked potato, green beans, peach crisp.

Thursday - Turkey salad cold plate with tomato wedges, garden pasta salad, crackers, cottage cheese, fruit.

Friday - Beef frank on whole grain bun, cheesy potatoes, baked beans, fruit cup.
