Congregate Meals: June 18-22, 2012

The Fairfield Senior Citizen Center has listed its menu for the coming week.

Meals are served at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday at the Fairfield senior center and at noon Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the Lockridge senior center.

Monday ? glazed ham ball, scalloped potatoes, black bean-corn-tomato salad, muffin, peach-strawberry-banana medley.

Tuesday ? beef luncheon steak, mashed potatoes, gravy, broccoli, orange-apricot gelatin salad.

Wednesday ? roast pork, candied sweet potatoes, cheesy steamed cabbage, sherbet.

Thursday ? turkey noodle casserole, peas, mixed green salad with dressing, fruit, oatmeal-raisin cookie.

June 22 ? barbecued pork, wheat hamburger bun, baked potato with sour cream, tomato-cucumber salad, pudding with fruit.

Milk, whole-wheat and whole-grain bread/muffins, and margarine are offered with all meals. The menu provides a general balanced diet that meets the RDA?s/RIA?s for adults.

Meals are offered on a contribution basis for persons 60 years of age and older and their spouses of any age. Full cost of meals is: congregate, $5.87; carryout, $6.35; home delivered, $7.73.

Reservations for meals at the Fairfield senior center must be made one day in advance either at the center or by calling 472-4403.

Bingo is played from 12:15-1:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday in Fairfield, and the Ed Bruegge Band plays at noon the first Wednesday of every month.
