Congregate Meals: May 19-23, 2014

The Fairfield Senior Citizen Center has listed its menu for the coming week.

Meals are served at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday at the Fairfield senior center and at noon Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the Lockridge senior center.

Monday ? liver and onions, mashed potatoes, gravy, lima beans, tropical fruit, banana-chocolate chip cake.

Tuesday ? scalloped chicken, citrus carrots, Tomato Spoon Salad, plums, pineapple crisp.

Wednesday ? roast pork, oven-browned potato, broccoli with cheese sauce, mixed green salad with Italian dressing, red banana and orange gelatin.

Thursday ? Salisbury steak and gravy, sweet potatoes, steamed kale with garlic, pears.

May 23 ? roast beef, mashed potatoes, gravy, crispy creamy spinach, Orange Blossom dessert.

Milk, whole-wheat and whole-grain bread or muffins and margarine are offered with all meals.

Frozen or shelf-stable meals are available for evenings, weekends and holidays.

Meals are offered on a contribution basis. For a person 60 years old or older and his or her spouse of any age, the suggested contribution is $3.50. The suggested contribution for a home-delivered meal is $4.

An individual younger than 60 must pay the full cost of the meal; the cost is posted at the meal site.

Reservations for meals at Fairfield must be made one day in advance at the center or by calling 472-4403.

Bingo is played from 12:15-1:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday in Fairfield.
