Constitution Day program set
MOUNT PLEASANT ? Iowa Wesleyan College will have a Constitution Day Program at 7 p.m. Monday at Chapel Auditorium.
The program is free and open to the public.
The moderator will be Wayne Whitney.

The moderator will be Wayne Whitney.
Panel members will be:
? Don Racheter, president of Public Interest Institute. His presentation title is ?Constitutionalism is Necessary for Freedom and Limited Government.? In addition to serving as president of Public Interest Institute, Racheter also is vice chairman for Iowans for Tax Relief and president of the Iowa Association of Scholar. He has taught political science for more than 30 years. He earned his doctorate degree in political science from the University of Iowa.
? Jeff Fager, vice president for academic affairs at Iowa Wesleyan College. His presentation title is ?The Roots of Constitutional Law: Why We Felt the Need for Legal Codes.? Fager began his duties as the vice president for academic affairs at Iowa Wesleyan College July 1 after serving as the academic dean at Maryville College, the dean of arts and sciences at Averett University and professor of religion and philosophy at Kentucky Wesleyan College. He earned a doctorate in Hebrew Bible, with a minor in ethics at Vanderbilt University.
? Mike Vance, attorney, with the presentation: ?The Constitution and the Bill of Rights.? Vance serves as an attorney in Mount Pleasant and he serves the community as a magistrate judge. He received both his bachelor and juris doctorate degrees from the University of Iowa.
? John Hendrickson, a research analyst and adjunct instructor of history at Iowa Wesleyan College. His presentation title is ?Why the Constitution is Exceptional.? Hendrickson serves as a research analyst at Public Interest Institute and an adjunct instructor of history and government for Iowa Wesleyan College and Southeastern Community College.
