Put June 25 on your social calendar. This will be the second annual cook-off contest at Ss. Peter and Paul Church at Clear Creek. The event will be 6 miles southeast of Harper and 6 miles southwest of Keota, where you will see the tall steeple in Clear Creek Township.
The entrees will be provided to the grill masters, and will include ribs, brisket, and pork loin. There will be an entrance free and a prize for each entrée.
Tickets will be available and dinner will be served at 6 p.m., with plenty of side dishes. A beer tent will be featured, and there will be games for the kids. Come early and stay late for lots of fun conversations. Last year the crowd numbered 600 plus, with 11 competing grill teams of four each.
Chef sign-up must be done by May 1, by calling Jon Baker at 319-461-5900 or Mick Berg at 319-461-3281.
Get your name and check in early and remember Saturday, June 25, at Clear Creek.
