MOUNT VERNON ? Adeara Maurice of Fairfield, a student at Cornell College, has been named to the dean?s list, earning honors.

Cornell named 36 students to the dean?s list for block five. Cornell names students to the dean?s list three times a year: for the fall semester, which is made up of four 3.5-week blocks; for block five; and for the spring semester, which is made up of four 3.5-week blocks.

A grade point average of at least 3.6 on a 4.0 scale is required for the designation. ?Highest honors? are granted to students with 4.0 averages; ?high honors? are awarded to students with 3.8 to 3.99 averages; and ?honors? include grade point averages of 3.6 to 3.79.

CULVER-STOCKTON COLLEGE

CANTON, Mo. ? Dean Ekle, a freshman arts management major from Farmington, was recently inducted into Culver-Stockton College?s chapter of Phi Eta Sigma. The honor society welcomed 40 new freshmen members during an induction ceremony in March.

Inductees must be first-year students with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale at the close of any full-time curricular period during their first year.
