Couple announces engagement

Amber Dawn Scott and Joshua James Trettin are happy to announce their engagement.

Amber is the daughter of Rhonda and Tim Clover of Sperry, and Jeff and Trish Scott of Mediapolis. Josh is the son of Linda Trettin of Strawberry Point, and Roger and Teresa Trettin of Rockford.

Amber is a 2005 graduate of Mediapolis High School. She received her bachelor?s degree in law enforcement and justice administration from Western Illinois University and her sssociates degree in applied sciences from Worsham College of Mortuary Science. She is a licensed funeral director and Embalmer with Jones and Eden Funeral Home in Washington.

Josh is a 2004 graduate of Starmont High School. He attended Kirkwood Community College and currently serves in the Army. He completed a tour in Iraq in 2011. He is also employed at Cornerstone Excavating in Washington, where he does underground utility construction.

The couple met in the fall of 2013 and became formally engaged on Jan. 23, 2016. They currently reside in Washington and will be united in marriage on Sept. 16, 2017, in Iowa City, Iowa.
