Crafts celebrate 40th wedding anniversary

Gary and Karen Craft of Mehlingen, Germany, celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary May 29 with friends at dinner in the Schloss Hotel and Restaurant in Landstuhl, Germany.

Gary Craft and Karen Van Dyne were married May 29, 1971, at Calvary Baptist Church in Fairfield with the Rev. D.O. Van Dyne officiating.

Mr. Craft is a minister working with United States military families overseas. He is a 1968 graduate of Fairfield High School and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Vern Craft of Fairfield

Mrs. Craft is a 1971 graduate of Fairfield High School and the daughter of former Fairfield residents the Rev. and Mrs. D.O. Van Dyne.

Their children are Amy and husband Maj. Dennis Uyechi of Salt Lake City, Utah. They have one grandchild.

The couple has been involved with a ministry to U.S. military forces and their families since 1984, serving in Spain and Germany. They currently pastor the Heritage Baptist Church in a community of more than 50,000 Americans.
