Crawfordsville celebrates Christmas

The annual Christmas celebration was held Saturday evening, December 24, 2022 at the American Legion Hall in Crawfordsville. Santa came at 5 p.m. and handed out gifts to all the boys and girls that had been good this year! A potluck supper was enjoyed by all. The evening was spent playing games and visiting.

Several from the group attended the United Church of Crawfordsville Christmas Eve service. The Marcus Davis family lit the Advent candles during this special service.

Those in attendance were Janet and Ernie Whiting, Columbus Jct.; Scott and Emily Boylan, Ryleigh and Avery; Steve and Pam Davis; Eric and Jes Davis, Javen, Jaxon, and Jada Davis; Scott and Jeanne Davis; Sanford and Nancy Davis, all of Crawfordsville; Randy and Jill DeYarman, Cedar Rapids; Jerry and Mindy Driscoll, Blaine, Wyatt, Olivia and Lily,Williamsburg; Chelsea and Clarissa Rugg, Chris McClain and Angela Davis, all of Washington; Ryan and Carman Davis, Peyton and Paxton,Wayland; Marcus and Brittany Davis, Makinley, Brysen and Merrick Davis, Mt. Pleasant; and Caleb and Joanie Kanneberg, Luna, Evie and Jackson, Colorado.

Mike and Shirley Massey and Shirley's mother, Ramona Von Sprecken were guests on Christmas in the home of their daughter and granddaughter and husband, Michele and Jerry Campbell at Cedar Rapids. Also joining them were Rebecca and Brad Groothuis and family of Marion and Ahsley Hoffon and friend, Damon. Following dinner they enjoyed playing games and visiting.

Doug and Carol Steele's Christmas guests were Carmen Steele of Omaha, NE.; Doug and Carrie Wilkerson and Emma of Center Point and Cory and Katie Steele, Kylee and Clayton of Crawfordsville. Carmen visited with family from Saturday until Wednesday.

Visiting Wayne and Debbie Lowe and Adrian Brisky over the Christmas weekend were: Renee Lowe of Cheyenne,WY; Lance and Karen Brisky of Lodi, WI; Sam and Kaelyn Burke from St. Paul, MN; Jordan Brisky from Lodi, WI and friend Reese Priebe from Eagen, MN.

On Monday, December 26, Greg and Carol Graber drove to Prairie City to the home of their son and family, Darin and Emily Graber, Garrett, Gabe, Riley, Selah and Blakely to celebrate Christmas. Other family members present were Gina and Chris Petersen, Reagan, Cale, Drew and Emery from Polk City; and Tim and Lisa Graber, Morgan, Cody, Brenna and Logan of Wayland.

Holiday visitors in the home of Cathy Williams were her daughter and husband, Amy and Jason Wahlert, Morgan and Kade of Prairie City. Christmas Eve they were all guests of Mike and Jacki Williams, Alyk and Grant in Washington. Also present was Sergio Delgado.

The Wahlerts returned to their home on Christmas Day and Cathy drove to Pella where she spent Christmas with her sister and family, Mary and Gary Lowery, Andy Guy, Nathan Waddell and Susan and Dennis Veenstra, Jocelyn and Trevor.

Opal Reschly accompanied her daughter and husband, Cindy and Steve Butcher to the home of her granddaughter and husband, Melissa and Walker Evans at North Liberty Christmas Day where they joined other family members and friends.
