Crawfordsville celebrates Halloween

The regular meeting of Chapter L of the National T.T.T. Society was held Monday, Oct. 22, at the Olds United Church of Christ. President Barb Shelman called the meeting to order and opened with the group singing the Sword of Gold.
There were no meditations.
Roll was answered by 14 members sharing a 'description of a favorite pair of shoes.”
Minutes of the previous month's meeting were read and approved.
The treasurer's report was given by Missy Fear and will be filed for audit.
Dues are now payable.
The books have been audited and found to be in order.
Committee Reports:
Camp: Nancy had made one purchase.
Gifts: Nothing to report
Charity: Marlys asked that Thanksgiving gifts be sent to the camp girls and their families this year. A motion was made and seconded to give the girls a gift card. Motion carried.
Ways and Means: Karolyn passed around the Tip Sheet for the Washington Pizza Ranch which will be coming up Monday, Dec. 3. The Bazaar is also coming up on Monday, Nov. 19 and each member is asked to bring two items for the auction.

Following the regular meeting, Election of Officers was held. Karolyn and Joan reported the slate of officers as follows:

The officers were unanimously approved.
The meeting adjourned with the closing creed.
The Annaual Crawfordsville Legion Halloween Costume Party was held at the WACO Elementary School on Wednesday evening, Oct. 31. Twenty-five children in pre-school through sixth grade and a few older kids participated. Judges were Jordan and Shelby Hill. Jeff Johnston, Mike Massey, David Cerka and Ernie and Jan Whiting helped with organizing, announcing and handing out prizes.

Following the contest, refreshments of coffee, milk and doughnuts were served in the school lunchroom. The kids then left to Trick or Treat around town.
On Veterans Day, Sunday, Nov. 11, the American Legion invites veterans and their families to a potluck dinner at the American Legion Hall at noon. Turkey and Ham, dressing and potatoes are furnished by the committee and they ask those attending to bring a dish to pass.
