Crawfordsville Community Club to host Halloween party Saturday

The Crawfordsville Community Club is hosting the American Legion Halloween costume contest at the Crawfordsville Fire Station on Saturday evening, Oct. 30 beginning at 5:30 p.m. Preschool through 6th grade will be judged. Refreshments of donuts, milk and coffee will be served following the judging.
The City of Crawfordsville has declared Trick or Treat night as Saturday, Oct. 30 from 5- 8 p.m.
Area Community members are reminded that our neighboring Ainsworth community is having their first ever Fall Festival, sponsored by Ainsworth Community Together on Saturday, Oct. 30.
There will be games, entertainment of all kinds, hayrides, buggy rides, something for all ages. They will have vendor sales and there will be City-Wide Garage Sales. Maps may be picked up at the Opera House.
Various Food Trucks will be available all day. There will be a Collector Car Show and a Silent Auction at the Opera House with Anything Goes stage entertainment with a group from Cedar Rapids. Mike Zahs will have an Antiques Roadshow and local adults will entertain, along with dance students.
Kids games will go on for all ages from 1-2 p.m. at the City Hall (previous school grounds).
Weather permitting there will be a Co-ed Softball tournament from 2-4 p.m. There is an entrance fee, with a cash prize being awarded for first place.
From 3-4 p.m., there will be a Halloween Costume and Fall Parade, starting at the Ball field.
A Checkers and Euchre tournament will be held at the Opera House. See the committee to register and to end the evening there will be a Halloween Party and live music at Leroy Brown's.
Come join the fun so they can make this an annual event.
Visitors
Visitors last weekend with David and Zola Cerka were his daughter and husband, Colleen and Richard Gregg of Lincoln, Nebraska. On Saturday evening, they, along with Jolleen Cerka of Washington were dinner guests of David II and Veronica Cerka in Cedar Rapids. Other family members of David and Veronica, also joined them.
