Crawfordsville Lions Club discuss Christmas Drawing

The Crawfordsville Lions Club met Monday evening, October 9, 2023 at 7 p.m. with eleven members present at the Crawfordsville Community Room .

Following the meal prepared and served by Alice Hochstetler, the meeting reconvened.

President Wilson opened the meeting leading the Pledge of Allegiance and Lion Nancy gave the prayer.

The September 25 minutes were approved as read by Secretary Rose. Treasurer Finke gave his report.

Old Business: The Christmas Drawing was discussed. December 16 was the date chosen with the 4-H Bake Sale at noon, Santa arriving at 12:30 and the drawing at 1 p.m. Lion Nancy will take care of making the cards to be sent out to area residents. It was decided the town Christmas lights will be put up on Saturday, November 25 at 9 a.m. The Christmas supper was discussed and Lion Rose will check into making arrangements.

New Business: None.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.

HARVEST SUPPER AND AUCTION

Saturday, November 4, 2023 is the date for the Harvest Supper and Sale at the United Church of Crawfordsville. Serving for the supper will be from 4:30-6:30 p.m. The Auction will begin at 7 p.m.

Creamed Chicken and Biscuits, Beef Burgers, Baked Beans, Potato Salad, Chips and Desserts will be on the menu. There is a free-will offering for supper.

The Auction will feature Cakes, Pies, Crafts, Grain, Canned Goods, etc.!!

Come join in for the delicious supper and a fun evening at the auction.

IN GATHERING

There is still time to put together School Kits and Personal Kits for the Fall In gathering in Mt. Pleasant which takes place Saturday, November 4. These items go to Midwest Missions Distribution Center which works with UMCOR and other nonprofits. Items are given both domestically and internationally. There are lists on the table in the Narthex. All items must be new. Certain sizes and quantities are requested.
