Crawfordsville Lions Club enjoys Christmas supper

Crawfordsville Lions Club members and guests enjoyed a bountiful supper Monday evening, December 11, 2023 at Miller Homestead Cooking near Kalona.

This was the club's annual Christmas outing. Lion Darrell Egli gave the invocation preceding dinner.

Those in attendance were: Scott and Jeanne Davis, Darrell and Mary Egli, Randy and Linda Finke, Joel and Luetta Greene, David and Lisa Jewell, Gene and Betty Lintz, Larry Love, Mike and Shirley Massey, Gene and Pat Miller, Billie Jo Rose and guests, Joe and Alice Hochstetler.

UNITED CHURCH WOMEN

Nine ladies from the United Church Women enjoyed lunch at the El Mariachi Restaurant in Winfield on Tuesday, December 12, 2023.

Cathy Williams, hostess, shared a Christmas meditation with the group and also shared the book " The Twelve Days of Christmas", a pop-up book by Robert Sabuda. She also presented each with a favor to take home.

Those attending were Rachel Koehler, Debbie Lowe, Pat Miller, Margaret Patterson, Pauline Richardson, Billie Jo Rose, Joyce Roth, Carol Steele and Cathy Williams.

ANNUAL CHRISTMAS DRAWING

A large crowd was in attendance Saturday, December 16, 2023 for the Lions Annual Christmas Drawing at the Crawfordsville Fire Station. Many local and area individuals and businesses donated prizes. Cash, gift cards and services were handed out to those present. At the conclusion, a $100 Grand Prize was won by Bob Frame of Ainsworth.

Preceding the drawing, the local Crooked Creek 4-H Club held a Bake Sale and Santa arrived to hold the little ones and (one not so little one) on his lap and hear their wishes.

The Lions Club is very appreciative of everyone and thanks them for donating to this event.

CRAWFORDSVILLE FIRE DEPARTMENT

The Crawfordsville Fire Department will hold a Soup Supper on Saturday, January 12, 2024 at the Crawfordsville Fire Station from 4-7 p.m.

Chili, Cheesy Potato and Beef Enchilada Soup will be featured. A free-will offering will be accepted.
