Crawfordsville Lions Club meets
CRAWFORDSVILLE NEWS

The Crawfordsville Lions Club met Monday, April 24, 2023 at 7 p.m. at the Crawfordsville Community Room with 12 members present. President Finke opened the meeting leading the Pledge of Allegiance and Council Chair Nancy Love gave the prayer.
Secretary Rose read the minutes of the April 10 meeting and they were approved as read. Treasurer Finke gave his report.
Old Business: The Crawfordsville Fun Days were discussed. This will be observed Saturday, July 8 and they are asking the Lions Club to once again serve lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. It will consist of pork burgers, baked beans, chips, lemonade and ice tea. The Lions will be celebrating their 70th Anniversary in conjunction with this event.
New Business: None.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
Tail Twister, Finke entertained with a fun quiz on a variety of topics.
Refreshments were served by Lion Davis.
T.T.T. MEETS
Chapter L of the National T.T.T. Society met on Monday, April 24, 2023 at the Olds United Church of Christ. The meeting opened with the singing of the Sword of Gold.
Roll Call: Seven members answered with " What is your favorite time of day?"
Minutes: Nancy McGohan read the March 2023 minutes and they were approved as read.
Correspondence: President Shelman reported some highlights from the Tidings publication, read the National Presidents Message from Joyce Rudowski and shared a published article from Texas about the club's member, Louise Unkrich.
The Treasurer's report was given by Missy Fear.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Camp: Nancy McGohan and President Shelman shared the names of two campers for this summer. They have met with the families to complete necessary paperwork. They will go shopping on April 26 at 5:50 p.m. Notes for camp girls to receive at camp were collected.
Charity: Nothing.
Camp Girls' Gifts: President Shelman read correspondence from Pat Miller stating an address change for a member.
Graduation: The group received a graduation invitation from a former camper.
Ways and Means: Karolyn Crawford reminded the group of upcoming events. Tip night at the Pizza Ranch in Mt. Pleasant is May 8 from 5-8 p.m. and lunch at Addington Place in Mt. Pleasant is July 20. Area communities are encouraged to come out and support this cause by participating in events.
New Business: The July meeting was discussed and it was suggested holding it at Sunrise Terrace so some of the club's members could attend.
Old Business: President Shelman and Nancy McGohan reported on the Convention that was held at the Riverside Casino the previous weekend.
As there were no Bills for Payment or Proposal of Names for Membership, the meeting adjourned.
President Shelman thanked those who attended. The next meeting will be Monday, May 22 at 7 p.m. at the Olds United Church of Christ. Nancy McGohan will be hostess and the Camp Shower will be held.
The meeting adjourned with the Closing Creed.
Preceding the meeting, dessert was provided by President Shelman.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
Parents should take note that Vacation Bible School is scheduled for Tuesday, August 1 through Friday, August 4 at the United Church of Crawfordsville. This will include Ainsworth Community Church, as well as the United Church of Crawfordsville children. More information will follow.
