The Crawfordsville Lions met Monday, May 12, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. at the Crawfordsville Community Room for their monthly dinner meeting with thirteen members and two guests, Donna Fletcher and Lara H. present.
The meeting was called to order with President Scott Davis leading the Pledge of Allegiance and Lion Fletcher offered prayer.
Following the meal prepared and served by Alice Hochstetler the meeting reconvened.
Guest Lara H., who grew up in Crawfordsville, shared with the Club about the work she has been a part of in the Middle East. She shared her experience of learning Arabic and the challenges of living in a different culture. Primarily, she shared about the work she did with an Organization called Cedars Network doing development projects for marginalized peoples and her role leading operations of the organization. She appreciated the opportunity to share more of what her life over the past 11 years has looked like with those who have supported her in various ways.
The business meeting resumed with Secretary Rose reading the minutes of the April 28 meeting. They were approved as read. Treasurer Finke gave the treasurer's report.
Old Business: Members were reminded that there will only be one meeting in May, as the usual second meeting falls on Memorial Day.
New Business: The Club will be selling Pork Burgers, Baked Beans and Chips, along with Drinks at noon on Crawfordsville Fun Days on Saturday, July 5. The Washington County Pork Producers will be donating 300 pork burgers. The Club will provide a wagon with hoops for the children to play basketball, courtesy of the Winfield Lions Club.
A motion was made, seconded and carried to give a donation to World Indigenous Missions and Camp Courageous. It was also announced that Isaac Rich, son of Neil and Cori Rich of Crawfordsville and a senior at WACO High School, is the recipient of the local Lions Club scholarship.
There being no further business, President Davis adjourned the meeting.

UNITED CHURCH WOMEN
The May 12, 2025 regular meeting of the United Church Women met in the Fellowship Hall of the United Church of Crawfordsville on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 with eight ladies and Pastor Jason Collier present.
Joyce gave the meditation from Psalm 43, "Increasing in Wisdom".
President Debbie Lowe called the meeting to order and the Opening Creed was read in unison.
The minutes of the March 11 meeting were approved as read by Secretary Billie Jo Rose.
The treasurer, Pat Miller gave her report, including what was realized from the Rummage Sale.
Correspondence: None.
Committee Reports: Local Activities: Marlene reported on the Soup Supper.
Dorcas: It was reported there is a good supply of quilts on hand.
Cards, Flowers and Gifts: The usual cards had been sent and Easter Lilies had been purchased.
Mission Outreach: Margaret reported the Membership and Mission Committee will be having a Fish Fry the evening of July 5 .
Old Business: Rummage Sale report. Change: Rachel will be hostess for the July meeting and in September Cathy will have the meditation.
New Business: May 31: Celebration of Life for Marvin Pool from 2-4 p.m.

Following a motion to adjourn, Deb thanked Margaret for hostessing and the Closing Creed was read together.
Debbie's closing thoughts were: P.U.S.H.--Pray Until Something Happens.
