Crawfordsville Lions Club meets

The Monday, October 10 meeting of the Crawfordsville Lions Club was held at 6:30 p.m. at the Crawfordsville Community Room with nine members present.
President Randy Finke opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and Lion Council Chair Nancy Love offered prayer.
Lion Secretary Billie Jo Rose read the minutes of the September 10 Pancake Breakfast and the minutes of the Sept. 12, 2022 Installation Banquet meeting and they were approved as read.
Old Business: Brief report of the Pancake Breakfast and Lion Gene Miller reported there were a few packages of pork chops left for sale and were available to whomever wanted them.
New Business:
It was mentioned that the Fire Department is in need of a chair cart. Lion Massey volunteered to provide one.
Donations will be made next month to the Iowa Lions Foundation and the Lions Club International Foundation. Members were reminded that David Heitman, Lions Foundation Trustee will be present to speak to the club at the Nov. 7, 2022 meeting.
There being no further business to come before the club, the meeting adjourned.
Lion Finke entertained the group with animal trivia.
Refreshments were provided by Lion Lintz.
Winter Clothing Drive
Meredith Roth, a junior at WACO High School is having a Winter Clothing Drive from Sunday, Oct. 9 through October 19. She is asking for donations of coats, hats, scarves, mittens, blankets, etc. Clean and in good condition!
These items will be passed out at the WACO Food Pantry on November 3. Items are to be for all ages. This is a school and personal project for Meredith.
There is a box in the Fellowship Hall at the United Church of Crawfordsville for items and other pick-up places are both the Elementary and High School, Peoples Savings Bank in Crawfordsville and Wayland, and the Sugar Creek and Bethel Churches.
WACO C.R.O. P. Drive
The WACO C.R.O.P. Drive is now on. It began Sunday, Oct. 2 and will run through Sunday, October 31. C.R.O.P. works locally, nationally and globally with Church World Service to help those who need it most. 25 percent of donations stay with the WACO Community. The local church ministerial group will be dispersing funds to those families and individuals who qualify.
This year's goal is to collect $34,000. Monetary, as well as farm commodity donations will be accepted.
New Grandchild
Congratulations to Rick and Annette Fulton on the birth of their first grandchild. A son, Theodore James was born Aug. 27, 2022 to Taylor and David Yoder of Marysville, Ohio weighing 7 lb. 10 0z.
