Crawfordsville Lions Club plans annual Christmas Drawing

The Crawfordsville Lions Club met Monday evening, October 28, 2024 at 7 p.m. for their regular meeting at the Crawfordsville Community Room with twelve members present.
President Scott Davis called the meeting to order leading the Pledge of Allegiance and Lion Fletcher offered prayer.
Secretary Rose read the minutes of the October 14, 2024 meeting and they were approved as read. Treasurer Finke gave his report.
Old Business: Discussion on the purchase of tables was tabled until the next meeting. It was mentioned there are still a few packages of bacon left for sale from the Pancake Breakfast.
New Business: It was decided to hold the annual Christmas Drawing on Saturday, December 14 at the Fire Station. There was discussion concerning the mailing of cards to area residents for the drawing and more information will be gathered and reported at the next meeting.
Putting up of town Christmas lights was also mentioned and that will be reported on at the next meeting, as well.
Ideas were discussed as to where to hold the annual Christmas dinner, with nothing decided on at this time.
As there was no further business to come before the club, President Davis adjourned the meeting.
Refreshments were provided by Lions Gene Lintz and Gene Miller.
Tail Twister Finke entertained with trivia regarding facts about Presidents.
HALLOWEEN COSTUME PARTY
The Halloween Costume Party sponsored by the Crawfordsville Community Club, the Crawfordsville American Legion Post # 593 and Peoples Savings Bank was held at the Crawfordsville Fire Station on Thursday evening, October 31 was well attended and around 50 participated from Infant to an Open Class and Family Class.
Winners in the following categories were:
Infant: 1st Place: Ellanor Hogue-Ghost; 2nd: Sawyer Kremer-Skunk; 3rd: Alyvia Robertson-Dalmation.
Toddler: 1st Place: Jake Rees-Dinosaur; 2nd: Noah Robertson-FireFighter; 3rd: Piper Hill-Maribelle from Encanto.
Pre-K and Kindergarten: 1st Place: Kynlee Penfield-Scarecrow; 2nd: Gearsyn Hogue- Nutty Squirrel 3rd: Jayda Davis-Bat.
1st Grade: 1st Place: Johonnah Hesseltine; 2nd: Ariyah Teel-Zombie Cheerleader; 3rd: Reagan Hill-Fairy Princess.
2nd Grade: 1st Place: Pailee Teel-Clown; 2nd: Ryleigh Boylan-Dalmation; 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Grade: 1st Place: Maddie Hogue- Taylor Swift; 2nd: Lucy Carter- U.S.Marine; 3rd: Margarita Clark-Grinch.
Open Class: 1st Place: Jenny Stout-Fire Person; 2nd: Terry McElhinney- Scarecrow; 3rd: Karen Dennler- Chicken.
Family: 1st: Smith-Robertson- Firemen and Dalmatians; 2nd: Kremers-Donuts; 3rd: McElhinney's- Scarecrow.
Grand Prize Winner: Jake Rees- Dinosaur.
Judges were Robin McClanahan, Emily Robison and Izzy Felts.
Following the party, everyone was treated to Donuts and Drinks, courtesy of the Crawfordsville American Legion Post #593 and Goody Bags from Peoples Savings Bank.
City-wide trick or treating was enjoyed following the party.
