The regular meeting of Chapter L of the National T.T.T. Society was held on Sept. 28, at the Olds Church of Christ. The meeting was called to order by Vice President Joan Rodgers by leading the group in singing "Sword of Gold." Marlys Fear gave meditations with the five lessons about how we treat one another.
The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read. Correspondence: All Chapters are being encouraged to invite camp girls to share their stories. Dates to remember: National T.T.T. Convention will be held in West Des Moines on Oct. 15 and Oct. 17.
Iowa State Convention will be held at the Kirkwood Meeting Center on April 15 -16, 2016. The 2017 Convention will be held in Spencer.
Membership challenge reminder: The numbers have continued to decline in Iowa so all are encouraged to find one new way to reach out to current members.
Lisa Kempf gave the treasurer's report. It was accepted and will be filed for audit.
Charities: Marlys suggested a gift card be given to recent campers at Thanksgiving.
Ways and Means: Everyone needs to think about items for the upcoming November Bazaar.
The next meeting will be on Oct. 26 and election of officer will be held.
New Business: A motion was made, seconded and approved to pay a small bill.
Lisa presented the budget for 2015-2016. Motion was made and seconded to accept it and motion carried.
It was reported the books need to be audited by Oct. 26, 2015.
The group elected a nominating committee. This committee will find people to fill the officer positions for the coming year. The committee includes: Pat King, Betty Molander and Nancy McGohan.
Dues are now payable.
Vice President Rodgers thanked the hostess Jen Slagel assisted by Glenda Alvine. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned. Refreshments were enjoyed by all.
The United Church of Crawfordsville is putting together a 2015 picture directory. The photo session dates are Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov. 3 and 4. The hours are from 2 to 8:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of the church. Sign-up can be done at anytime online using the church website: www.uccville.org. or you may contact Billie Jo Rose at 319-330-9955 or Donna Fletcher at 319-461-1568 or the church office at 319-658-2366.
Sign-up can also be done after worship on Oct. 4, 11 and 16. People are welcome to include their family pets, also.
There is a 20 percent senior discount for those over 60. Also you can bring one nonperishable food item when photographed an receive a $5 "Thank You" Portrait coupon from Lifetouch. The nonperishable food item will be added to the HACAP Food Drive the church does each Thanksgiving.
Each family participating will receive a complimentary 8x10 portrait and a directory for participating. There will be an opportunity to purchase additional portraits.
