The 94th annual alumni banquet for Crawfordsville High School was held at the United Church of Crawfordsville on Saturday evening, June 8, 2019. There were 56 graduates, teachers and guests present to enjoy the delicious meal prepared and served by church members and helpers.

The theme of the banquet was 'Through the Years.” Decorations were in the school colors of red and white. Each table had a display of memorabilia from past businesses.

Larry Fletcher was master of ceremonies and led in prayer before the meal. Phyllis Eisele read correspondence and a letter written by former graduate, Leah Anderson Foster. Gerry Farrier read the minutes of the 2018 banquet. Martha Chalupa was the pianist for the singing of school songs. The group also sang a clever version of the song,”Through the Years” that was written by Gerry Farrier. Some graduates bought interesting items from past school days such as jackets, shoes and school annuals. This added to the fun of the evening.

Former coach and teacher Joe Rupp and wife, Lynn, were present.

Present from the Class of 1940: Mildred Whiting Mather; from the Class of 1949: Jo Ann Chalupa Swift and Joan Schantz Love; from the Class of 1954: Pat Fisher Owens; and from the Class of 1959: Larry Banks, Geraldine Chalupa Farrier, Ellen Edgar Waggoner, Dave Henderson, Kenneth Hubbs and Larry Westen.

Deaths noted this past year were: Marie Clark Lowe, Class of 1935; Robert Martin, Class of 1942; Mary Cherryholmes Jensen, Class of 1945; Marshal Rose, Class of 1946; Bea Gillespie Hesser, Class of 1947; Viola Hering Beenblossom, Class of 1948; Wendell Wilson, Ivan Wilson, Class of 1954; Fred Fisher, Class of 1956; Dick McNeil, Class of 1956; Jerry Fisher, Class of 1960 and Larry Wilson.

The evening concluded with eveyone singing ' God Bless America.”
