The White Cloud Club met Tuesday, June 7, for breakfast at Sassy?s in Wayland. Seven members enjoyed a delicious breakfast. President Jolene Colthurst called the meeting to order by reading ?Bodies?--somebody--everybody--anybody--nobody.
Roll call was answered by naming their favorite pickle. There was much discussion on pickle making.
Pauline read last month?s minutes and gave the treasurer?s report. Discussion was held on the fall tour with the date being set for Sept. 6 or 8. Pauline gave a report of past tours.
Attending were Pauline Richardson, Margaret Patterson, Frieda Finke, Jolene Colthurst, Joyce Huff, Betty Lintz and Pat Miller. The next meeting will be with Carrie Coble, at 5:30 p.m., July 5, and will feature a white elephant exchange.
The Finke family reunion was held Sunday, June 12, at Jerry?s Restaurant in Mt. Pleasant.
Those attending were: Frieda Finke, Randy Finke and Craig and Brenda Davey of Crawfordsville; Audrey Finke and Jane Kaczinski of Washington; Shirley Finke and Wayne Finke and Sherry Pine of Columbus Junction; Phil and Barb Deats of Clive; Dick and Bonnie Gesling of Moline, Illinois; Janis Hauenstein and Craig Johnson of Iowa City; Larry and Madonna Jack of Carlisle; Janet Simmons, Connie Swartzendruber and Christina Bowman of New London and Debbie and Amelia Rowe of Hanapepe, Hawaii.
The Crawfordsville Lions Club met Monday, June 13, at the Crawfordsville Ball Park. Thirteen Lions were in attendance. Lion President Loree Stogdill led the club in the Pledge of Allegiance and gave the invocation. After a delightful picnic supper prepared and served by Lion Larry Love, the club discussed the issues at hand.
Lions will be serving concessions for the Crawfordsville Fun Day July 2 at the ballpark. On the menu will be pork burgers, hot dogs, chips, pop and water. Serving hours will be from 11:30 a.m. to ?
Cleanup for Fun Day will be Friday, July 1 at 6 p.m. at the ballpark.
Lions will no longer be serving the evening meal for Fun Day as previously planned.
The September Pancake Breakfast at the ball park will be Saturday, Sept. 17, from 7- 9:30 a.m. Gene Miller will take care of the sausage and Randy Finke will procure other supplies.
