The fall cleanup for Crawfordsville will be held Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014. Please have items at curb side by 7 a.m. (Please note the change in date.)
Household debris should be bagged and there is a 100-pound limit. Wood needs to be bundled. Paint cans should be emptied and dried out.
Tires and appliances will be picked up for a small fee. Those items will only be picked up with a sticker on them. Stickers can be purchased form the city clerk.
Items that will not be picked up include: oil, burn barrels, yard waste, any hazardous waste, concrete, brick and plaster.
For any questions, contact Carolyn Love, city clerk.
Oct. 26 is the last day to bring items for the Ingathering Kits for UMCOR. One hundred thirty-seven kits have been completed. Anyone who would like to see how these are put together and packed up to go, can check out the room next to the church library. There is a list of items needed for the different kits on the hall table and also a display of the different kits for everyone to see. The Dorcas "bag ladies" have plenty of bags made for the school kits. Donations are also welcome to purchase the items needed to make these kits and may be given to Helen Lease.
Helen will be taking these to the Ingathering in Mt. Pleasant on Saturday, Nov. 1.
The WACO Backpack Program appreciates the many ways the church and the entire community have supported 16 local families (which is 73 people) to provide meals each weekend during the school year. Most nonperishable food items, along with 1 gallon Ziploc storage and freezer bags are needed. Perishable items (meat, butter, potatoes, fresh fruit and vegetables) can be taken directly to nurse Jenny at the elementary school or you can contact our church for a list of specific items.
