Taylor and Mandi Stogdill are the proud parents of twin girls born on Saturday, Oct. 24, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.Tayte Cathalene weighed in at 4 pounds, 5 ounces and Rylee Frances weighed 4 pounds, 7 ounces. Grandparents are Ken and Loree Stogdill of Crawfordsville and Lisa Vileta and Bob and Melissa Vileta.
This is double the excitement for Ken and Loree, as this is the second time they've welcomed twin grandchildren in the last month. Twin sons, Cooper and Maxwell were born to their daughter, Jamie and husband, Steve Schlee on Sept. 30.
The Crawfordsville Lions Club met Monday, Oct. 26, at the Crawfordsville Community Room at 7 p.m. with eight members present.
President Loree Stogdill called the meeting to order and led the Pledge of Allegiance and offered prayer. Secretary pro-tem Billie Jo Rose presented the minutes of the Oct. 12 meeting, which were approved.
The Treasurer's report was given by Treasurer Randy Finke. He noted there are still sausage patties available from the pancake breakfast and they can be purchased at Agri-Way Partners.
In correspondence, a letter was read from the NBAA World Series of Beep Baseball which will be held in July of 2016 asking that the club buy a baseball, which would have the club's name on it to sponsor this event.
The leader dog program was discussed.
The Christmas lights were also discussed and no decision was made at this time regarding buying new ones. Several options were weighed, including a minigrant and also the possibility of the city sharing the expense.
The Lions Blood Drive will be Monday, Nov. 30, at the United Church of Crawfordsville from 1:30- 6:30 p.m.
The date of the February Pancake supper was revisited and it was decided to table this until the next meeting. Lion Nancy Love will be asked to give an update on the Leo Club at the next meeting.
The Haunted Hall sponsored by the Crawfordsville Community Club/Crawfordsville Lions Club was held Oct. 30 and 31 at the Crawfordsville Legion Hall.
The Christmas drawing in December was also discussed. The meeting adjourned.
The Fall Soup Supper at the United Church of Crawfordsville will be held Saturday, Nov. 14. Serving will be from 4:30- 7 p.m. Chili, potato and oyster soup will be served. A free-will offering will be taken.
