Janice Twinam and Marilyn Rees hosted twelve members of the Crawfordsville Wednesday Study Club in the United Church of Crawfordsville Fellowship Hall on Dec. 4, 2019, at 2 p.m.
President Clarissa Malmberg led the Flag Salute and Club Collect before bringing the meeting to order.
The minutes and treasurer's reports of the November 13, 2019 meeting were read by Secretary/Treasurer Debbie Lowe. There were several book briefs shared along with some discussion of the books read. There is no January meeting scheduled. The next meeting will be February 19, 2020 at the United Church of Crawfordsville at 2 p.m., when the day will be spent 'Sharing Valentines.”
Following the meeting, Cathy Williams led a group share of 'Spending a Day with Christmas Memories.” Each member had a favorite Christmas memory to tell. Cathy then shared one of her pop-up books, 'The Christmas Alphabet” with the group, having the ladies guess what Christmas theme or item each alphabet letter might stand for before showing the unfolded pop-up. She also had on display 'A Winter's Tale,” The Twelve Days of Christmas” and 'A Night Before Christmas” pop-up books, all by Robert Sabula, a children's pop-up book artist and paper engineer.
The hostess then served delicious refreshments.
Twenty-two members of the Crawfordsville Lions Club and their guests enjoyed dinner Friday evening, Dec. 6, 2019, at the Thirsty Camel.
Attending were Scott and Jeanne Davis, Darrell and Mary Egli, Randy Finke, Larry and Donna Fletcher, Luetta Greene, Jennie Greene, David and Lisa Jewell, Gene and Betty Lintz, Larry and Nancy Love, Gene and Pat Miller, Lance Miller, Adam Mitchell, Billie Jo Rose, Larry and Barb Swailes and Mindy Wilson.
The United Church Women met at Circa 59 at Halcyon House in Washington for lunch on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2019, with nine in attendance.
Following the singing of the 'Doxology” the group enjoyed a lovely dinner.
A business meeting followed.
Those attending were Ruth Erwin, Donna Fletcher, Debbie Lowe, Wilma McAllister, Pat Miller, Margaret Patterson, Pauline Richardson, Billie Jo Rose and Cathy Williams.
Cathy Williams was hostess and presented everyone with party favors.
Following the close of the meeting, the group enjoyed touring the gift shop.
