Scott and Emily Lewis Boylan of North Carolina who are expecting their first child in March, were honored at a baby shower on Saturday, Dec. 17, at the United Church of Crawfordsville. Emily?s sisters, Wendy Imhoff and Alicia Kelley, were in charge of the shower.

As baby gifts were opened those attending offered helpful advice for the new parents.

Approximately 40 guests, which included the baby?s great-grandmother, Mildred Houseal of Washington, grandparents Ann and Duane Lewis of Crawfordsville, and grandparents Steve and Ellie Boylan of Milan, Illinois, were present. Aunts, cousins and friends attending came from Crawfordsville, Winfield, Wayland,Washington, Williamsburg, Columbus Junction, Cedar Rapids and the Quad Cities. Several were unable to attend because of windy and snowy conditions. A fun time was had by all.

Christmas Eve the families of the late Henry and Betty Davis met at the Crawfordsville Legion Hall for supper and to celebrate Christmas. Santa also visited.

Attending were: Jan and Ernie Whiting, Will and Mindy Mae Whiting and Owen; Alyson Whiting; Ann and Duane Lewis; Wendy and Derek Imhoff, Bradley and Orie; Alisha and Levi Kelley, Cecil and Leah; Emily and Scott Boylan; Scott and Jeanne Davis, Angela Davis and Amber Davis; Ryan and Carman Davis, Peyton and Paxton; Marcus and Brittany Davis, Makinley and Brysen; Steve and Pam Davis, Mindy and Jerry Driscoll and Blaine; Kimberly Farrell and Henry; Eric and Jess Davis and Javan; Jill and Randy DeYarman; Joannie Kannenburg and Luna and Nancy and Sanford Rugg; Clarissa and Chelsea Rugg.

Afterward several attended Candlelight Christmas Eve services at the United Church of Crawfordsville.

Guests of Doug and Carol Steele Christmas Day were: Harold Steele, Carmen Steele, Carrie and Doug Wilkerson and Emma and Cory and Katie Steele, Kylee and Clayton.

The family of the late Cleo and Arlene Fletcher had Christmas together on Monday, Dec. 26, at the United Church of Crawfordsville. Those attending were: Kathy and Mick Garris of Winfield; Jennifer and Charlie Dill and family of St. Louis; Troy Garris and Rod Salaysay of Chicago and Erik and Bekah Garris and Clinton of Chicago; Robin Fletcher of Ames; Amy and Corey Mellies, Lily, Claire and Oliver of Ames; Linsey and Kaleb Zimmerman, Henry and John of Cedar Falls; Larry and Donna Fletcher of Crawfordsville; Pam Green, Fletcher and Jacob of Washington; and Brad and Carol Fletcher and Emma of Cedar Falls.
