The regular meeting of the Iowa Chapter L, of the National T.T.T. Society, was held on at 7 p.m. Sept. 22, at the Olds Church of Christ.
President Missy Fear opened the meeting by leading the group in singing "Sword of Gold." Mary Benson gave the meditation reading an article titled "Adjusting to Your College Roomate." Twenty members answered roll call by sharing their most favorite, oldest or most special recipe.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
The treasurer's report was given and filed for audit.
Correspondence
Marlys read an e-mail from Jean Anderson. She is resigning her membership, as she has moved from the area. A thank-you note from the national office was received thanking the group for their donation in memory of Elnora Woline.
Missy presented information from "Tidings" regarding membership nationwide. She encouraged all to think of others who would like to become members. She also announced places where the national conventions will be held.
Ways and Means
Karolyn reported on the success of the butter-braid sales. She further reminded everyone of the November Bazaar. Each member is to bring two items to be auctioned off.
It was reported that gift cards were given to campers.
There was a vote on potential new members.
Next month's meeting will be held on Oct. 27. There will be election of officers and possible initiation.
New Business
There were no bills presented. The budget was distributed. After looking it over, a motion was made and seconded to approve it. The motion carried.
The treasurer's books will be audited by Betty Molander and Pat King.
The Nominating Committee is Joan Rodgers, Betty Molander and Cathy Williams.
Missy reported that honorary member Mary Lou Peterson had moved from Olds to Ottumwa, where they are closer to family.
Missy also thanked the hostesses for the evening, Marlys Fear and Barb Shelman.
There being no further business President Fear closed the meeting, leading the women in reciting the TTT Creed.
In church news, the United Church of Crawfordsville is forming a praise band which will play one Sunday a month for a half hour before worship. Anyone who would like to join the group should contact Pastor Jason. Practice is held on Tuesday evenings at 6:30 p.m.
There is an African Choir Concert scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, at the Ainsworth Elementary School. Students from the Highland and WACO elementary schools will be singing with the choir.
Handicapped parking will be available. A free-will offering will be taken.
The United Church of Crawfordsville also has a confirmation class. If any young people in sixth grade would like to be part of the class, please contact Pastor Jason.
