Six members of the White Cloud Club visited the Herbert Hoover Museum in West Branch, on Sept.1, for their fall trip.
The making of the Great Humanitarian: Herbert Hoover and the World War I display was enjoyed by all. Lunch was at Reid's Beans Cafe A short business meeting was held and two Secret Sister gifts were shared.

Six members of the White Cloud Club visited the Herbert Hoover Museum in West Branch, on Sept.1, for their fall trip.
The making of the Great Humanitarian: Herbert Hoover and the World War I display was enjoyed by all. Lunch was at Reid's Beans Cafe A short business meeting was held and two Secret Sister gifts were shared.
The group then visited It's New Once Again, the Cotton Creek Mill, Main Street Antiques and Art and the Brick Arch Winery before going home. The last stop was at the Ainsworth Dairy Mart. Jolene Colthurst and Lennis Beichter planned the trip. Those attending were Betty Lintz, Pat Miller, Pauline Richardson, Julia Bletscher, Jolene Colthurst and chauffeur Lennis Beichter. The next meeting will be a 12:30 luncheon on Oct. 6, with the place to be determined later.
The United Church Women met at the United Church of Crawfordsville at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 8, with 11 members present. Ruth Erwin presented the meditation "Nothing" from a news article. Psalm 37 encourages us to "Be Still...By doing "nothing" we have time to commune with God. President Debbie Lowe called the meeting to order and everyone read together the UCW opening creed. Secretary Protem Cathy Williams read the minutes of the July 14 meeting and a motion was made and seconded to approve them as read. Treasurer Pat Miller presented the treasurer's report and it will be filed for audit.
Committee Reports: It was report cookies and coffee had been served at a recent funeral service. Also, many book bags have been made and will be filled with school supplies to be taken to the 2015 Bishop's Ingathering and Dorcas has also been constructing quilts. Members were requested to sign up for work committees and UCW monthly hostesses in 2016.
The Least Coin Offering was taken and the prayer read in unison. Clarissa Malmberg conducted a dedication service for the 2015 Thank Offering of Presbyterian Women. A Thank Offering was taken.
It was agreed that the Fall Rummage Sale was a success. The committee thanked all who helped with the sale.
Nominations Committee report: Clarissa Malmberg presented the UCW slate of officers for 2016: President-elect: Debbie Lowe; Vice President-elect: Clarissa Malmberg; Secretary-elect: Billie Jo Rose; Treasurer-elect: Pat Miller. 2016 Nominating Committee members: one year - Donna Fletcher; two year- Cathy Williams, three year -Pauline Richardson. A motion was made to accept the Nominating Committee report and cast a unanimous ballot for the slate of officers. Motion carried.
President Lowe reported on more updates for the kitchen remodeling. The Harvest Sale will be Saturday, Oct. 24. The UCW will provide refreshments for the Ainsworth-Crawfordsville Church Charge Conference on Sunday, Oct. 25. The October Work Committee will be in charge of the arrangements and serving. President Lowe announced upcoming events and news items for UMW and UPW. A motion was made, seconded and carried for the UCC Mission Committee to assume the "Neighborhood Welcoming Kit" gift certificate program starting in 2016. A motion was also made for the UCW to purchase toothpaste for the Health Kits that will be taken to the Ingathering. Dorcas continues to meet the second and fourth Mondays at Wilma McAllister's. Members were reminded to be thinking of a source for the Blessing Box donations. The next meeting will be Tuesday, Oct. 13. Hostess and meditation : Julia Bletscher.
Following a motion for adjournment, members read together the UCW closing creed. President Lowe thanked Ruth Erwin for being today's hostess.Closing Scriptures were from Psalm 100:1 and Mark 6:37. Thought for the day-How do we measure a year (525,600 minutes) from the song "Seasons of Love." How will you measure your next 525,600 minutes?
A reminder the Crawfordsville Lions Club will have a Pancake and Sausage Breakfast held Saturday, Sept. 12.
