The Crawfordsville Community Club presented the WACO Elementary School with a very large assortment of school supplies on Friday, September 25, 2020. These were donated as a result of the great response the Community Club received from their Ice Cream Sundae Social event held Sunday, August 30, 2020. Community members not only donated school supplies, but also made cash donations to make this a huge success.
The Crawfordsville Lions Club met Monday, September 28, 2020 at the Crawfordsville Community Room at 7 p.m. with seven members present.
First Vice President Gene Miller opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and also gave the invocation.
Lion Randy Finke installed Lion President Mike Massey since he was unable to attend the September 14, 2020 meeting due to illness.
Lion President Massey then conducted the remainder of the meeting.
Secretary Pro-tem Billie Jo Rose read the minutes of the last meeting and they were approved as read. Lion Treasurer Randy Finke gave his report.
It was mentioned that club members would be meeting Saturday morning, October 3, 2o2o at 9 a.m. out at the town sign to do work on the west retaining wall.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
Refreshments were enjoyed furnished by Lion Nancy Love and Lion Massey.
Pastor Jason Collier has begun preparations for a Confirmation Class and a schedule will be set up in the near future. Anyone interested, please contact him.
WACO 7th and 8th graders and friends are invited to Junior Youth Fellowship at the Wayland Mennonite Church to be held the first, third and fourth Wednesday evenings of each month. Supper is held from 6-6:30 p.m, followed by games, activities, Bible lessons and more. Pick up time is 7:45 p.m. Social distancing will be practiced. They will kick off their year with a Hayride and Bonfire on Wednesday, October 7. They will meet at 2561 320th St., rural Wayland at 6:15 p.m. Supper will be provided and pick up time is 7:45 p.m. at the same location. Contact Myrna Joy Wenger for further details.
