The Crawfordsville Lions Club met Monday, October 12, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. in the Crawfordsville Community Room with 12 members present.
Lion President Mike Massey opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and Lion Larry Love gave the opening prayer. After a delicious meal prepared and served by Alice Hochstetler, the meeting reconvened.
The minutes of the September 28 meeting were approved as read. The treasurer noted no change in the financial report from last month.
Old Business: Work on the Crawfordsville sign has been rescheduled until a later date.
New Business: Lion Secretary Nancy Love reported that she had attended the Special Fall State Convention in Marshalltown the preceding weekend. She also noted that District 9 SE has received two $10,000 emergency grants from LCIF--one for face shields and meals for healthcare workers in the district and the other for helping families who lost perishable food items in the days following the derecho.
Lion Adam mentioned the Fire Department will be holding a fundraiser the same night as the next Lions dinner meeting, but that shouldn't impact our meeting.
Lion Nancy passed out documents from the Lions Internationals website regarding service projects and recruiting new members. The subject of going to one meeting a month was brought up and rejected.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
