The Crawfordsville Lions Club met Monday, Feb. 13, at 6:30 p.m. at the Crawfordsville Community Room with 16 members present. Lion President Billie Jo Rose called the meeting to order and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Lion Larry Love offered the invocation.
After a delicious meal prepared and served by Alice Hochstetler, the meeting reconvened.

The Crawfordsville Lions Club met Monday, Feb. 13, at 6:30 p.m. at the Crawfordsville Community Room with 16 members present. Lion President Billie Jo Rose called the meeting to order and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Lion Larry Love offered the invocation.
After a delicious meal prepared and served by Alice Hochstetler, the meeting reconvened.
The minutes of the Jan. 23 meeting were approved as read. There was no treasurer?s report.
Old Business: Last-minute arrangements were made for the Feb. 18 Pancake Supper. Members of the Community Club would be assisting. Set-up was at 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17.
New Business: The Crawfordsville Community Club will be holding a Spaghetti Supper on March 4, from 4 - 7 p.m. at the Fire Station and requested the sponsorship of the Lions Club. Motion carried. A free-will offering will be taken for the meal.
It was noted the current and past two presidents will need to present the slate of officers for the 2017-18 Lion year at the March 13 meeting for the first reading.
Correspondence was read from Leader Dog indicating that the club is still on the list to sponsor a leader dog puppy, but that it will be a few more months.
It was also noted from the Iowa Lion that the District Convention is March 31-Apil 1 in Lone Tree.
Members were reminded to be thinking of programs for the meetings.
The meeting adjourned with a round of trivia from Tail Twister Lion Fletcher.
The United Church Women met Tuesday, Feb. 14, at 2 p.m., with 10 ladies in attendance.
Cathy Williams gave the meditation, ?Voices of Faith.?
President Debbie Lowe called the business meeting to order and the Opening Creed was read in unison.
Secretary Billie Jo Rose read the minutes the Jan. 10, and they were approved as read.
In the absence of treasurer Pat Miller, Debbie gave the report and it will be filed for audit. The regular offering and Least Coin offering were received and the Prayer of the Fellowship of the Least Coin was read together.
In correspondence, thank-you notes were read from several organizations the group had supported this past year. Shirley Pfeifer, the UMW shepherdess, will be at the April meeting to give her report.
Wilma McAllister reported the ladies had been busy making baby quilts and some had been delivered where needed.
Clarissa Malmberg presented the Mission Outreach lesson.
In upcoming events, the UCW will be hosting the district officers here from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, March 1. Up to 20 people are expected to attend.
