The Conger House in Washington was the location for the afternoon June 17 meeting for eight members of Wednesday Study Club.
Janice Twinam and Clarissa Malmberg were in charge of arrangements. Janice, assisted by Phyllis Eisele, told of the history of the house and led the group on a tour of the two-story building. Ferd Marie also helped tell the story of the Indian artifacts housed in the basement.

The Conger House in Washington was the location for the afternoon June 17 meeting for eight members of Wednesday Study Club.
Janice Twinam and Clarissa Malmberg were in charge of arrangements. Janice, assisted by Phyllis Eisele, told of the history of the house and led the group on a tour of the two-story building. Ferd Marie also helped tell the story of the Indian artifacts housed in the basement.
Following time at Conger House, the ladies went to Cafe' Dodici for "Dutch Treat" refreshments and a short business meeting led by President Cathy Williams.
This is the last meeting for the club year 2014-15. The next meeting will be a salad supper at the church on September 15.
The Crawfordsville Alumni Banquet
The 90th year for the annual Crawfordsville High School Alumni Banquet was observed on Saturday, June 13, when 79 graduates and friends met for this special event at the United Church of Crawfordsville.
Marie Clark Lowe was present from the Class of 1935, this being her 80th year. She was honored to have all five of her children present. They are: Phyllis Eisele, Mary Fabian, Linda Alvine, Don Lowe and Larry Lowe.
Larry Fletcher gave the welcome. The treasurer's report was given by Phyllis Eisele and Gerry Farrier read minutes from last year's meeting. Phyllis Eisele read correspondence from Joe Rupp, Leah Anderson Foster, Bob Lowe and Ted Maxwell.
Fletcher conducted a quiz that tested memories from the past.
Kenneth Beenblossom, Viola Hering Beenblossom and Pat Fisher Owens were recognized as never missing a banquet since their graduation. Larry Wilson from Wrangell, Alaska came farthest.
Other honored guests were: Erwen Graber, Class of 1937, Mildred Whiting Mather, Class of 1940, Everett Sommer, Class of 1941 and Wilma Wooley McAllister, Class of 1944.
Those present from the Class of 1945 were: Mary Cherryholmes Jensen, Robert Jones, Joan Maxwell Anderson and Ruth Rich Eash.
Present from the Class of 1950 were: George Fulton, Raymond Reschly and Ruth Davis Erwin.
Those from the Class of 1955 were: Carl Chalupa and Jim Edgar.
Representing the Class of 1960 were: Jerry Beauchamp, Larry Fletcher, Judy Hering Barthalow and Kenneth Lee.
Deaths noted in the past year were: Cleo McCoy, Class of 1942, Peter Graber, Class of 1950, Fern Woodyard Burns,Class of 1950, John McNeil, Class of 1961 and Karen Wallace Vilmont, Class of 1961.
Decorations were in the school colors of red and white. Men and women of the Crawfordsville Church prepared and served the meal with Wayne and Debbie Lowe and Gene and Pat Miller being the committee in charge. Donna Fletcher printed the programs.
Everyone sang school songs accompanied by Lucille Gault Humphreys, class of 1949.
The evening concluded with everyone singing "God Bless America."
Members of the committee were: Phyllis Eisele, Larry and Donna Fletcher, Pat Owens and Ruth Erwin, along with the help of Chuck and Helen Odell and Daryl Owens.
The family of the late Clarence and Nina Lowe held a family reunion on Sunday, June 14, at the United Church of Crawfordsville.
Present were: Larry and Donna Fletcher, Crawfordsville; Brad, Carol and Emma Fletcher, Cedar Falls; Steve, Pam, Fletcher and Jacob Green and Brittany Sholl, Washington; Mick and Kathy Garris, Winfield; Robin Fletcher, Ames; Marie Lowe, Wayland; Phyllis Eisele, Washington; Mary Fabian, Coralville; Gene and Linda Alvine, Loveland, Colo.; Don and Carla Lowe, Wayland; Terry and Joyce Miller, Denver, Iowa.; Rich an Peg Twait , Minn., City, MN.; Wayne and Debbie Lowe, Columbus Junction.; Renee Lowe, Cheyenne, Wyo.; and Craig and Karen McCoy, Crawfordsville.
The Miller family was in charge of arrangements.
