Jeff Johnston and Arvid Anderson attended the First District American Legion Conference in Columbus Junction on Saturday, April 18, 2015.

"Friends and Family Night" of Henry County Voiture No. 661 was held April 23 at the Jumbo Grill in Mount Pleasant.

Those attending were Grande Correspondent Larry Williamson and wife Marriane of Plainfield, Chef de Gare Dean King of Mount Pleasant, Jeff Johnston and wife Diane of Crawfordsville, Ernest Whiting and wife, Jan of Columbus City, Myron Jennings and wife Tana of Winfield, and Correspondent Locale Dean Slater and wife Ruth of Washington.

Julia Bletscher and Lennis Beichter returned recently from visiting friends and relatives in Kansas. Those visited in Leonardville were Betty Peters, Warren Ford, Jack and Mary Kaye McCarty, Merton Bletscher and Mr and Mrs. Don Norris.

In Clay Center they visited Julia's brother, Joseph Kubick, and good friend Shirley Mackender.

They then traveled on to Emporia to visit the Mitch Moore family and LeAnne Roberts, Christopher and Dean.

They especially enjoyed attending Isaac Moore's grade school orchestra concert and Sadie Moore's high school orchestra concert. Both grandchildren play the cello.
