The regular meeting of Chapter L of the National T.T.T. Society was held July 27, at the Olds Church of Christ. The meeting was called to order by President Missy Fear with all present singing Sword of Gold. Katherine Zeglen shared meditations.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Correspondence: Thank You cards were received from two campers for the gift cards sent them. Marlys shared the Call to Convention regarding the National Convention coming up in October being held in West Des Moines. Missy shared information from the Tidings magazine.
The Treasurer's report was given and will be filed for audit.
Nancy reported contacting three camp girls to help purchase school supplies.
Lisa reported on the camp girls reunion. One camp girl and one guest was also present. Games were played and a craft project was made. The group enjoyed refreshments.
New Business: Bills were presented by Nancy for school supplies and by Marlys for gift cards. There was a motion made and seconded to pay these bills. Motion carried.
The topic of proposed bylaw changes was discussed. It was decided to let delegates vote how they see fit. Delegates were selected to attend the convention. They are Glenda and Lisa, with Leah and Karen being the alternates. If anyone else decides to go, Missy needs to be notified.
The next meeting will be Sept. 28, at the Olds Church of Christ. Jen and Sharon will be hostesses and Marlys will share meditations.
Missy reminded everyone that election of officers will be done at the October meeting. She thanked hostesses, Katherine and Marlys.
There being no further business, the meeting closed with everyone reciting the T.T.T. Creed.
Members of the White Cloud Club and their guests held a picnic Sunday evening, Aug. 2, at the home of Betty and Gene Lintz.
Two Secret Sister gifts were given and the group discussed a club trip Sept. 1, with the time and destination to be announced later.
Those attending were Carrie Coble, Jolene and Andy Colthurst, Frieda Finke, Joyce Huff, Betty and Allan Lucas, Pat and Gene Miller, Floyd Richardson, Wanda Schultz and guest, Fran Lowe and the host and hostess.
The Wyman Community Club met Monday, Aug. 3, for lunch at the Ainsworth Four Corners with 17 present.
Those attending were John Wittrig and Laura McPhail of Winfield; Frieda Finke, Ruth Erwin, Elaine Prom, Robert and Lucille Humphreys, Margaret Patterson and Billie Jo Rose of Crawfordsville; Ruth Johnston of Ainsworth; Wilma Vosburg of Grinnell; Al and Adeline Sents, Audrey Finke, Peggy Buffington, Jean Kaczinski, and Joann Love.
Frieda Finke and Elaine Prom served German chocolate cake in observance of their birthdays.
?There will NOT be a meeting in September.
Those planning to attend the next dinner meeting, which will be Oct. 5, should note it will be held at the Frontier Restaurant in Washington at 11:30 a.m. Please note the change of meeting place.
The Third Annual Ice Cream Social will be held at the Water Tower Park in Crawfordsville on Sunday, Aug. 23, from 2 - 4 p.m..
The only cost is a School Supply Donation. Donated school supplies will be delivered to WACO Community Schools.
This event is sponsored by the Crawfordsville Community Club and the Crawfordsville Lions.
