The Crawfordsville Lions Club met Monday, Jan. 11, at 6:30 p.m. at the Crawfordsville Community Room with 17 members present.
In the absence of the president Loree Stogdill, first vicepresident Billie Jo Rose called the meeting to order and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Secretary Nancy Love gave the invocation.
After a delicious meal prepared and served by Alice Hochstetler, the meeting reconvened. The minutes of the Nov. 23, 2015, meeting were approved as read. There was no treasurer's report.
Old Business: Nancy reported that she and Lion Loree had been shopping for the Christmas family and had spent less than budgeted for this project. The Pancake Supper scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 20, was discussed, and it was decided ticket prices would remain the same as last year ? $7 in advance and $8 at the door for adults, $5 for kids 12 and under; and preschoolers, free. There was discussion about the Christmas street lights. Lion Gene Lintz had done some research and shopping and found they could refurbish the lights by using LED bulbs.
New Business: It was moved, seconded and approved to sponsor the Crawfordsville Community Spaghetti Supper on Saturday, March 5, and the Easter Egg Hunt. A motion was made, seconded and approved to make the club's annual contributions to LCIF and ILF.
Lion Tail Twister Fletcher only had five questions of Trivia, as everyone was anxious to get home to watch the college championship football game.
The Crawfordsville Community Club and the Crawfordsville Lions are sponsoring a spaghetti supper, Saturday, March 5, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Crawfordsville Fire Station. There will be a free will offering.
