The Wyman Community Club met Monday, Dec. 7, at the Frontier in Washington for an 11:30 a.m. lunch with 12 present. Those present were: Robert and Lucille Humphreys, Frieda Finke, Ruth Erwin, Billie Jo Rose, Margaret Patterson of Crawfordsville; John Wittrig and Laura McPhail of Winfield; Jane Kaczinski and Peggy Buffington of Washington and Viviuan and Eileen Jennings of Columbus Junction.

The Wyman Community Club met Monday, Dec. 7, at the Frontier in Washington for an 11:30 a.m. lunch with 12 present. Those present were: Robert and Lucille Humphreys, Frieda Finke, Ruth Erwin, Billie Jo Rose, Margaret Patterson of Crawfordsville; John Wittrig and Laura McPhail of Winfield; Jane Kaczinski and Peggy Buffington of Washington and Viviuan and Eileen Jennings of Columbus Junction.
A card was signed for Audrey Finke who was in the hospital. The next meeting will be Jan. 4, 2016, at 11:30 a.m. at the Frontier.
The United Church Women met Tuesday, Dec. 8, at Sassie's in Wayland for a Christmas lunch with 15 present. Helen Lease gave the meditation on the meaning of "Merry" in Merry Christmas and how we shouldn't deviate from the saying. President Debbie Lowe called the meeting to order and everyone read together the Opening Creed. Secretary Billie Jo Rose read the minutes of the Nov. 10, meeting and they were approved as read. Pat Miller presented the treasurer's report and it will be filed for audit.
The Blessing containers were turned in and the money will be used for the military "Operation, Heal Our Patriots." The regular and Least Coin Offering was taken. Many items of correspondence were read, as well as many cards were reported being sent. The Local Activities Committee reported serving a funeral dinner. Also, flooring projects for the kitchen are going to taking place the end of the month.
Wilma reported Dorcas will meet Monday, Dec. 14 and Jan. 11. At the last meeting, Nov. 30, many quilts were started and more are in the process of being completed and will be taken to various places in need.
The Prayer of the Least Coin was read in unison. Program books are in the process of being completed. There was a report of the kitchen update and many projects are in the works, some completed and others waiting to be done.
The next regular meeting will be Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2016, at 2 p.m. The hostess and meditation for January is Wilma McAllister.
The work committee for December is Donna Fletcher and Aline Hesseltine. January is Pat Miller and Ruth Erwin.
There was a motion for adjournment. Members read together the Closing Creed. Debbie thanked hostesses Joyce Huff and Pauline Richardson and closed with Scripture Luke 1:45 and Galatians 6:10.
Christmas Eve Church Services will be held at the United Church of Crawfordsville at 7 p.m.
