The regular meeting of Chapter L of the National T.T.T. Society was held Monday, Nov. 21, at the United Church of Crawfordsville.
The meeting was called to order by President Sharon Bright. The meeting opened with the group singing Sword of Gold.
Twenty answered roll call by telling their favorite Christmas decoration.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved with the correction of date from Nov. 28 to Nov. 21.
Correspondence: Marlys Fear read a card from the National T.T.T. office acknowledging the chapter?s monetary gift to them.
Treasurer?s report was given by Missy Fear and will be filed for audit.
Reports of Committees: Camp: Information is being gathered as to girls who might be attending camp this year. Charity: Marlys brought quilts to the meeting wrapped and ready to be delivered. Nancy McGohan will deliver.
Camp Girls Gifts: Two cards had been sent. Ways and Means: Those who brought items for the bazaar were thanked.
Unfinished Business: Sharon reminded everyone of the State Convention coming up in April in Spencer, and of the National Convention coming up in October in Arizona. Nothing had been heard about grants.
Bills: Bills were allowed for gift cards for current camp girls for Christmas.
Sharon thanked Leah and Tammy Erwin for serving as hostesses.
There is no meeting in December or January.
The Crawfordsville Lions Club met Monday evening, Nov. 28, at 7 p.m. at the Crawfordsville Community Room with 10 members present.
Lion President Billie Jo Rose called the meeting to order and led the club in the Pledge of Allegiance. Lion Gene Miller gave the invocation. The minutes of the Nov. 14, meeting were approved as read. Treasurer Randy Finke gave the treasurer?s report and stated he had paid the ILF and LCIF donations.
Unfinished Business: Due to lack of help the town Christmas lights were not put up on Nov. 26 as scheduled. Lions were to meet at the old fire station on Wednesday, Nov. 30, at 3 p.m. to complete the project. The Christmas party will be held Monday evening, Dec. 12, and more information will be gathered before making a final decision.
Lion Luetta Greene presented a plan for the new WACO scholarship. The winning applicant will receive $250 for the first semester and $250 for the second semester of the first year of a two- or four-year college. The scholarship funds will be available for any WACO student.
The Fall Blood Drive reported 36 donors.
The request to provide Christmas gifts for a needy family was responded to by the WACO Ministerial Association; therefore, the Lions will not provide that service this year.
New Business: Lists were distributed for the Christmas Drawing which will take place Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016 at the Crawfordsville Fire Station. The 4-H Bake Sale will be a 12 p.m. , Santa arrives at 12:30 p.m. and the drawing begins at 1 p.m.
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned.
Joe and Alice Hochstetler visited their daughter, Lara, in Redding, California, over the Thanksgiving holiday.
