The highlight of the day was receiving May baskets made by Patterson and given to everyone by her great-niece, Zhanna. Everyone certainly appreciated their thoughtfulness.

The White Cloud Club met Tuesday, May 2, at Ainsworth Four Corners for lunch.
Everyone was presented with May baskets made by President Jolene Colthurst.
Jolene opened the meeting with a reading, ?Mother?s Love?
Roll call was answered with a variety of ideas, ranging from Mother?s Day plans; tired of winter and ready for spring; new great-grandchild; band concert and baby birds on the pond. Very Interesting!
Pauline read minutes of the last meeting and gave the treasurer?s report. A thank-you note was read from Wanda Schultz.
In old business, the July 4th meeting was discussed and it was decided to have it on Wednesday, July 5, at 11:30 a.m. at Ainsworth Four Corners.
The next meeting will be a June breakfast meeting at Hy-Vee in Washington on Tuesday, June 6, at 8:30 a.m.
Those attending were Jolene Colthurst, Frieda Finke, Joyce Huff, Betty Lintz, Pat Miller, Margaret Patterson, Pauline Richardson and Virginia Sands.
The meeting closed with a plant and bulb exchange.
Rose had the pleasure of attending the presentation of ?There is something special about Columbus Junction? on Saturday, April 29, at the Columbus Junction Public Library given by former resident Ray Hendrickson. He highlighted and celebrated the Columbus Junction Library and the Columbus Gazette. Ray gave a short presentation about special happenings and recollections and experiences of growing up and around Columbus Junction.
It also featured the release of the Second Edition of ?Yarns by Ray? and book signing of both he and his wife, the former Shirley Carey of Columbus Junction. She has written a cookbook,?Mission House Bed and Breakfast? which relates to the Bed and Breakfast they owned in Iowa City and her book, ?The Starting Gate-Stella?s Story? which features the race horses made famous by the Carey family of Louisa County.
Many Columbus Junction residents and former high school graduates were present to enjoy the presentation.
