The Crawfordsville Lions Club met Monday, June 30, at the Crawfordsville Ball Park.
Sixteen members were present, along with two guests, Sonya Love-Smith and Karen Dennler and their girls, Audrey Smith and Zoey Denler.
The focus of the gathering was to clean up the ball park in preparation for Crawfordsville Fun Day on July 5.

The Crawfordsville Lions Club met Monday, June 30, at the Crawfordsville Ball Park.
Sixteen members were present, along with two guests, Sonya Love-Smith and Karen Dennler and their girls, Audrey Smith and Zoey Denler.
The focus of the gathering was to clean up the ball park in preparation for Crawfordsville Fun Day on July 5.
After a picnic supper, First Vice President Mindy Rochwick called the meeting to order. There were no minutes or treasurer's report. A report was given about the car show. It was suggested that Arvid Anderson ride in a Lions Club float for the Crawfordsville Community Fun Day, July 5. There was a unanimous vote to not have the pork loin dinner this fall. However, the fall pancake breakfast will be Saturday, Sept. 20 from 6:30 to 10 a.m. Tickets will be sold in advance, and at the door at a higher price. Nancy Love will make the tickets and she will contact Loree Stogdill about publicity. The meeting then adjourned.
On Tuesday, July 1, seven members of the White Cloud Club met at the home of Carrie Coble.
Vice President Joyce Huff opened the meeting with a humorous reading denoting the difference between being rich or poor.
Roll call was answered by bringing a favorite picture.
A White Elephant Exchange was held.
The next meeting will be a potluck on Aug. 17 at 6 p.m. at the United Church of Crawfordsville Fellowship Hall.
Those attending were: Julia Bletscher, Frieda Finke, Joyce Huff, Betty Lucas, Pat Miller and Pauline Richardson, along with the hostess? children, Grace and Nick.
Delicious refreshments in keeping with the Fourth of July theme were served by the hostess.
The Wyman Community Club met on Monday, July 7, at the Ainsworth Four Corners for lunch at 11:30.
Seventeen were in attendance, including Vivan and Eileen Jennings of Columbus Junction.; Lorrine Dunsmore and John Wittrig of Winfield; Kevin Dunsmore of Mount Pleasant; Robert and Lucille Humphreys, Frieda Finke, Pauline Richardson, Ruth Erwin, Elaine Prom, Billie Jo Rose and Fern Clang of Crawfordsville; Wilma Vosburg of Grinnell; and Audrey Finke, Peggy Buffington and Jane Kaczinski, all of Washington.
The group will meet again for lunch at Ainsworth Four Corners on Monday, Aug. 4.
Dane, Kari and Grace Beichter have returned to their home in Chesapeake, Va. following a 10-day visit with with his parents, Eldon and Lennis Beichter, and grandmother Julia Bletsche. One day was spent in Le Claire touring the Pickers'.
Eldon and Lennis and Julia welcomed a new granddaughter and great-granddaughter on June 30, 2014. Norah Faith Beichter was born to Dustin and Kari Beichter in Aiea, Hawaii, weighing in at 8 pounds, 6 ounces and measuring 21 inches long. She was welcomed by big sister, Khloe, 6 years old.
Mary Long of Crawfordsville, who has been residing at The Van Vorhies Haus in Mount Pleasant is recovering from a fractured hip in skilled care in Room 2022 at Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant and would appreciate hearing from friends.
