Twelve members of the Crawfordsville Wednesday Study Club met in the Fellowship Hall of the United Church of Crawfordsville at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19.

President Pauline Richardson conducted a brief business meeting including the minutes of the March meeting and the treasurer?s report, both given by Secretary/Treasurer Debbie Lowe.
Cathy Williams led the program ?A Poor Taste Party/Let Your Hair Down/Obnoxious Clothing? reciting quotes and excerpts from several humorous books referring to the theme. Members dressed accordingly and the tables were spread with mismatched tablecloths and a variety of mismatched holiday tableware was used. Hostesses Debbie Lowe and Clarissa Malmberg served ?dirt cake? and trail mix for dessert.
The next meeting will be ?Relaxing @ L.E.T.?s Center in Washington May 17.
The Crawfordsville Lions Club met Monday, April 24, at 7 p.m. at the Crawfordsville Community Room. Twelve members were present.
President Billie Jo Rose called the meeting to order and Lion Secretary Nancy Love gave the invocation. The minutes of the April 10, meeting were approved as read. There was no financial report.
Old Business: Lion Nancy reported that the changes in the Prison Puppy Program would not affect the status of the Crawfordsville Lions puppy sponsorship.
New Business: Lion President Billie Jo read an email from Brian Pattyson of the Wayland Lions Club regarding the possibility of sponsoring a youth trap shooting club as a Leo Club. More information is needed; Lion Nancy will communicate with Lion Brian. Lion Nancy spoke of her weekend at Camp Hertko Hollow and her role in helping families identify possible financial aid through local Lions clubs. She suggested that the Crawfordsville club make a donation to the camp. This was tabled; more information is necessary. Lion Adam Mitchell asked the club to co-sponsor the Crawfordsville Community?s Fun Day on July 1. The vote was favorable.
Correspondence: A graduation invitation from Roman Keifer was passed around.
In the absence of the tail twister, the meeting adjourned.
David and Tammy Erwin welcomed their first grandchild, a daughter, Jenna Kay Johnson born Tuesday, April 25, 2017, to Micah and Janelle Johnson of Washington. She weighed 8 pounds, 4 ounces, and was 21 inches long. Paternal grandparents are Mitch and Connie Johnson. Jenna?s great-grandparents are Kenny and Jean Clark, Ruth Erwin, Dick and Barb Stalder and Eston Johnson.
