Steve and Pam Davis of Crawfordsville welcomed their first grandson, Henry Patrick Farrell, born to Patrick and Kimberly Farrell of Colorado Springs, Colo. on March 18, 2015. He was born at 7:44 p.m. at St. Francis Medical Center in Colorado Springs, weighing in at 7 pounds, 11 ounces, and measuring 20 inches long. Steve and Pam Davis of Crawfordsville welcomed their first grandson, Henry Patrick Farrell, born to Patrick and Kimberly Farrell of Colorado Springs, Colo. on March 18, 2015. He was born at 7:44 p.m. at St. Francis Medical Center in Colorado Springs, weighing in at 7 pounds, 11 ounces, and measuring 20 inches long. Maternal great-grandparents are Rodney and Joyce Letts of Washington. Paternal grandparents are Connie Farrell of New York and Jim Farrell of Florida.
Steve and Pam spent four days recently in Colorado making the acquaintance of their new grandson.
The United Church Women met Tuesday, April 14, at 2 p.m. in the United Church of Crawfordsville Fellowship Hall with 10 women and Pastor Jason Collier and one guest, Shirley Pfeifer, was present.
Cathy Williams presented the meditation.
President Debbie Lowe called the meeting to order . Members read together the U.C.W. Opening Creed. Minutes of the Feb. 10, meeting were approved. The March 6 World Day of Prayer meeting at Ainsworth Community Church was discussed.
The treasurer's report was given by Pat Miller and will be filed for audit.
One thank-you note was read. Drawer dividers had been put in the kitchen. Sewing Days were discussed. One was held April 13. Upcoming dates are April 27 and May 11. Several cards had been sent. The Least Coin Offering and the Birthday Offering were taken. A grant has been sent in for church/kitchen renovations.
The Alumni Banquet will be held June 13.
Shirley Pfeifer, United Methodist Shepherdess, spoke to the group of the different meetings and conferences she had attended concerning human trafficking and domestic violence.
The Southeast District Day Apart was held Saturday, April 11, in Mount Pleasant.
The next regular meeting will be held at 2 p.m. May 12.
Following a motion to adjourn, the Closing Creed was read in unison. Debbie thanked Pat Miller for being hostess. Debbie closed with Scripture from John 14:21 and Matthew 6:6 and also a reading from UMW Vision and Views, "Be Prayerful, Be Obedient, Be Forgiving and Be Faithful."
